SUPPORT TO YOUNG FEMALE ENTREPRENURS
MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
The main objective of the project is to strengthen the system of support and promotion of entrepreneurship among young women through the development of their entrepreneurial meta-skills within the framework of the FEM-SKILLS Model.
The project addresses the competence and motivation barriers of young women, seeking to reduce the existing “gender gap” by developing, testing and disseminating a new competency model of female entrepreneurial meta-skills (FEM-SKILLS) , which, along with an implementation toolkit, can be used in different contexts, places and levels to support female entrepreneurship and beyond. Because meta-skills are timeless higher-order skills that have enabled people to succeed throughout history.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
- Combating gender stereotypes and integrating gender equality issues into the entrepreneurship support ecosystem.
- Promote entrepreneurship and self-employment as a valuable career option for young women and an opportunity to empower young women.
- Raise awareness of gender inequality issues in the entrepreneurial sector and access to entrepreneurial education.
- Develop and promote the new FEM-SKILLS cross-cutting entrepreneurial skills competency model.
- Increase of partners’ substantive capacity and internationalization of activities through joint project planning and implementation,
- Development of international partnerships and networking of entrepreneurial development environments among young women.
The FEM-SKILLS Model (an acronym for FEMALE ENTREPRENEURSHIP META-SKILLS MODEL) will be universal and cross-cutting in relation to the European Competency Framework, and isolates from all descriptors those that relate to the general category of meta-skills that are nonetheless primary to entrepreneurial orientation. The project promotes shared values, civic engagement and participation and contributes to strengthening the development of social and intercultural competencies by promoting and realizing a gender equality perspective as a counter to the stereotypes associated with it. Especially since the women’s entrepreneurship gap represents a missed opportunity for innovation, social and economic value creation and job creation.
